At the moment of truth Sunday night in Super Bowl XLV, the Packers overcame the first-half departures of Charles Woodson and Donald Driver to vanquish the Steelers, 31-25, at Cowboys Stadium. Fans started counting down the clock, braved the icy roads on long journeys from the Midwest, transferred through crowded airports and spent hundreds and perhaps even thousands of dollars just to get a seat inside Cowboys Stadium. It was a night to remember.'

I love Poncho Viva---is there somewhere I can get a pattern for this to knit or crochet it? ......... Oediles

Thanks for your quick response to Oediles' request for a pattern to make Poncho Viva. http://www.projectknitway.blogspot.com/  I have copied it in but I know there are heaps of wonderful patterns to make to keep you warm and cosy.

It seems surreal that you are surrounded by snow as I sit in this balmy tropical weather just south of all the floods

I had a request for the "how to" on this poncho. It's one of my favorite pieces to knit and is super easy whether you knit by hand or machine. It's basically just one long rectangle 26" wide and 60" long. Here again you just have to know your gauge. For example, if it's 4 st/" and 5 rows/" cast on 104 st and knit 300 rows. You can knit textured stitches or the faux rib stitch I've previously discussed or just about any stitch that fancies you. Once you have the rectangle knit, fold it in half and stitch up the shoulder seam and the side seam as shown in the diagram. You can sew the seams by hand or machine, whatever your preference. In blogs ahead, I'll add collars and other decorative touches to make your poncho unique. So enjoy your knitting and long live the poncho
