Grandmothers on roles / rolls on Mothers Day.

Hi R
I hope you had a happy Mother's Day - or shall I say Grandmother's Day. I had a lovely card expressing appreciation from my daughter who always seems to be able to find the best cards. It even has a butterfly on it, significant because that has been her symbol. Mine used to be the eagle but he has been put to rest to be replaced by the dragonfly which flits from one thing to another and has heaps of fun.

Hope you had as much fun with AJ as I had with OJ  - as you can see by the video.
I am off to spend http://www.timeintuscany.com/ so maybe will send a blog or two from there.

Like Mother, Like Daughter

"No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up". R wrote - my mom was a great example. She always got up and dressed up and made her bed up, three of her cardinal rules. She also always had breakfast on the table waiting for us when we came out in the morning.

Clara -My mum, (left) did the same - it was the era and they were good rules. When Dad came home at night, even if she hadn't started dinner, she would say, "Quick, put the tablecloth on so Dad thinks that dinner is nearly ready."

A recent article re Mother's Day - 'A girl's primary role model is her mum - especially when it comes to her appearance. What our mothers, consciously or unconsciously,  teach us about body and beauty, can stay with us for life.'  Girls want to be like their mothers from the moment they step into her high heels while playing dress-up as toddlers. With awareness and self acceptance,  "we have the power to create women of substance and silicon."  Thanks Mum - I love you.
Love Clara

Happy Mothers Day to all our Denim Divas

Hi R - Happy Mothers Day to you and to all our denim divas.

Bleeding Hearts...May 8th

New variety of Bleeding Hearts found in Wisconsin garden!

I had a great day - My mother said, 'The greatest joy we have in life is in having children'.  I was very fortunate to have a mum who thought that way and I miss her as we do on this special day.

My heart is now with my children and their children, and today I am enjoying their appreciation  and embracing the 'Circle of Life'.  Love to all on this special day..... Clara
